Day One
• Wine tour and sightseeing of the Wairau Plains.
• Meet winemakers/owners, hear their stories, feel their passion.
• Visit Te Whare Ra (The House in The Sun) The oldest boutique winery in Marlborough.
• Isabel Estate, Seresin Estate, Allan Scott, Wines, Cloudy Bay, Hunters, Nautilus Estate. No 1 Family Estate.
• Enjoy a vineyard tour, and learn how the vines are managed. Try some fantastic wines.
We will have a winery lunch at one of the many wineries and see the wonderful sights Marlborough has to offer.
Dinner tonight will be at Herzogs Restaurant, world renowned for its legendary degustation five course menu with matching wines.
Accommodation will be at Old Saint Marys Convent. Victorian Style, pure luxury, in a romantic 60 acres of vineyards and gardens. Included are pre dinner canapés and wines.
Day Two
Today we will visit Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. Stunning rare memorabilia is worthy of any national collection, and ranges from beautifully crafted “trench art” through to personal items belonging to the famous Red Baron. Amazing captivating scenes. Always better than anyone expects to experience. Your own private guide will tell you stories and experiences.
Lunch today will be on the River Queen, a leisurely cruise up the Opawa River in Blenheim, or you may prefer to travel through to the Awatere Valley and visit Yealands Winery for a tour, with either a Picnic Hamper or lunch at a Winery.
Tonight we will travel through to Picton (The Gateway to The South Island), step off the beaten track, travel by launch out into the Queen Charlotte Sounds and discover Marlborough Sounds magic at the award winning art and nature venue of Lochmara Lodge. Meet native birds, friendly pigs, alpacas. Here you will enjoy a 3 course dinner and wine. |
